Just like it says on the label!
We're going to be looking at some of the games available out there in the Pc/Console worlds.... This does include MMORPG's, online single player games and the like. We will be reviewing some of the newer games available, and going over some of the best games of the past.....
So, where to start?? Should we go back into the early days of computer entertainment - Recapping on the sort of game from the ZX Spectrum, & the ever so quickly obsolete Sam coupe? Or remember the glory days of the Commodore - The 64, and Amiga are STILL amongst the favourite computers for most of us who still remember them.... Oh, you youngsters with your text talk don't know what you were missing!! Or should we go even earlier still?? Atari's stick pong and soccer Pretty much kicked off the computer game era....
Nope... Not yet. We have decided on (another) poll... Which games system was the first one you remember? And can you name the very first game you played??
My first ever is the Atari games system. But my favourite game were Icicle Works, Fire Ant, & Treasure Island on the Commodore +4. They were ALL Great games! What was yours?
For all of you Arkanoid fiends out there - Below is something to play while you ponder the imponderables! Try it!

2012 - The Time of the ONLINE GAMER 2012-04-08 12:13 EEST Ok,so online gaming has been going strong for years now.... But have you noticed all the decent games that have cropped up? One such game is DC Universe Online. SOE have been working on DCUO, and I have to say... Its pretty impressive. Its also free - mostly. You are able to play the game, and level up all the way to level 30; with minimal need to buy. Obviously if you wish to play as Batman etc in PvP, you'll need to splurge the cash out to unlock the characture... there are other bits and pieces that may require yo to buy, but for the most part, you can build up your super hero's suit as you like, and upgrade it to make it/you stronger using a collectable called Exobites. There is loads to do - You can play the main game in one universe (PvE) Or spend some quality time kicking the digital arses of your friends in the PvP universe. Personally, I'd recommend getting yourself to lvl30 before going into PvP, But thats only this writers opinion... Bringing me swiftly to Leveling... All I can say is this... It doesn't take long to level up. Going from 1 to 5 happens in the blink of Catwoman's eye. Getting up to lvl10 can take a bit longer, but as with everything in life; that just depends on how much time per day you're able to put into it. All in all, it's a pretty addictive game, with good graphics, and an evolving story line. To find out more, go to your PS3 store to download the game, or go to the Sony online website on your PC. Please feel free to correct me if you feel the need to, or comment. Keep smilin', ~ Ds

A trip down Retro Lane....
2012-04-14 11:38 EEST For the past month (maybe two) I've found myself re-examining some of the older games that are still knocking about... I have also realized that all of my work on other sites has been suffering due to this rather unfortunate set of circumstances..... (But hey... what ya gonna do?) So this morning, sitting here with a steadily cooling cup of coffee (Only my second, so this whole blog could still turn out to be complete gibberish...) I've decided to bore you with more of my ramblings - Do I ever have anything good to point out or say?? Only time will tell... So who remembers that exciting yet tricky game Privateer?? It's a game that I had always wanted to play, but never got around to actually doing (having by then gotten myself deeply embroiled into the world of the PSX by the time I had a PC worthy of playing such a game). It's a game that I have already realized I'm rather crap at playing.... All of those years playing "Wing Commander" and many of it's follow-up titles on the Amiga 1200, & Playstation seem almost wasted... For those of you who have skipped this title, but had maybe played the predecessors, its a similar theme - You are the Privateer...You have a ship with cargo space, and you can go just about anywhere in the galaxy on bounty missions or escorting missions, or you can just plod through space seeing whats out there, and attacking those pesky Kilraths.... The choice is yours. Did I mention you were the Privateer?? The game itself was developed as a way to get those of you (who may have missed the first installments) into the game, having been created with the higher end machines in mind.... The graphics hark back to the original style, when games were games - and most of your parents were hap-handedley trying to figure out which end of the joystick to plug where.... - So even though they (The graphics, not your parents) look outdated, it's still a gripping game to play (when you get your head around all of the keyboard controls that entwine with the joypad) And that is about where I am with the game.... Still trying to figure things out... Still getting blown out of space before I've even fired up my engines.... Still blaming the controller for obviously being shodilly made.... Which means only one thing.... I'll have to keep this particular blog open, with the odd update here & there, once I've gotten the hang of things... And drink lots more coffee.... So for now at this particular time I will leave things here... Unfinished, and not making a lot of sense. Still - It gave you a twenty minute break... Keep smilin' ~ Ds |
